what i'm reading wednesday | 07.20.16
I'll be the first to admit it: I am way behind on my reading. Between work, the fur kids, and everything going on with getting this site up and running...I simply haven't made the time. And that's totally my fault.
However, I'm a big proponent of bubble baths and reading while taking one. There's a lot to be said about disappearing for 20-30 minutes to get back to yourself again. However, triple digit heat has kept me from even wanting to sit in hot water for that long, sooooo...there's another reason.
Regardless of how behind I am, I'm currently engrossed in Erik Larson's Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania. While I'm not a major non-fiction fan, I have read several of his books, including the story of the American ambassador is pre-World War II Germany and an interesting link between Marconi's wireless system and a murderous husband. Needless to say, he's made me a fan of his work. His books read like fiction, but are peppered with facts, quotes, and, as always, a remarkable attention to detail.
Stay tuned for a review!
