monthly recap | february 2017

I'm going to change things up a little bit...I want to share the top Instagram and Facebook posts, too!

top blog of the month

Apparently, my friends, you all have a sweet tooth for chocolate. The top blog post of the month was the Texas sheet cake skillet. It's delicious, easy, and comes together in a snap.

hpotm (hot post of the month)

Bring on Bill Nye and Alton Brown. I simply cannot wait to see the craziness that ensues with these two mad scientists. If you've never watched Alton Brown, he combines spectacular food with inventive cooking methods. And Bill Nye is...well, Bill Nye. It's the perfect way to nerd out.

insta-greatness

I got a little sappy on my last day in Costa Rica. After a great trip, I was starting to feel really heavy about the upcoming transition to Pittsburgh and decided to wax poetic a bit.

travels

I went to Costa Rica. And I talked about it A LOT! I shared some of my favorite photos from the trip, as well as my recommendations on the best places to hit up when you visit Tamarindo.

I also got a little romantic and shared my top international and United States destinations for romantic trips. It was hard not to get into the Valentine's Day spirit looking at pretty sunsets and drinking at great wine bars.

food

Since I've been by myself or traveling for most of the month, Wine, Books, & Wanderlust has been severely lacking in recipes. So, yeah, sorry (but not sorry, too). I did share my favorite refrigerator pickles recipe, which is perfect for springtime picnics and barbecues.

books

Interested in some sappy romance? Maybe something a little more raunchy? Check out the list of most romantic books, published just for Valentine's. The trip to Costa Rica meant a lot of reading time, which I so desperately needed. Be sure to look into some sun, sand, and surf book reviews to add to your beachy reading list.

upcoming plans

Today was kind of a sad day. I switch from full time work to a contract basis at my marketing job. It was pretty bittersweet, because I really enjoy what I do and the people I work with. February has been a month of tumultuousness, adventure, and preparation for a lot of change.

We're moving at the end of March. The Man Friend has been up there for over a week, so I'm really excited to see him on Friday. Blogs may be a bit more sparse (they're packing up my kitchennnnn) for a few weeks while we adjust, so be sure to follow me on Instagram as I tour my *soon to be!* new home.

March is also my birthday month. We usually go on a big trip for our birthdays, but I think this year is going to be spent packing and getting the house ready. But that's okay...2017 continues to promise a lot of adventure ahead!
