monthly (and yearly!) recap | december 2016
Wow, you guys. 2016 is almost O-V-E-R! I don't know about you, but it's been an insane year and I'm super excited to start fresh in 2017.
hpotm (hot post of the month)
You guys went all sorts of festive over our Christmas card and pics of the fur babies in their holiday best.
travels
December was a pretty light travel month. We went to Fort Worth and Houston to visit family and friends, but we opted to stick close to home this holiday. However, I shared some of my absolute favorite gift ideas for the traveler in your life.
food
Since I wasn't on the road this month, I spent a lot of time in my kitchen...and on the couch reading. Whether you baked a batch of my MVP cream cheese sugar cookies, whipped up some drunk pudding for your holiday party, or took the time to make real deal cinnamon rolls for brunch...there was something for everyone. And if one of your 2017 resolutions is to eat healthier this year, be sure to check out this yummy stuffed acorn squash recipe.
books
I read a lot this month. Since I spent a lot of time in the kitchen, December was the perfect month for audiobook. I finished off two relatively long novels earlier in the month, and I'm looking to curl up during the rest of the cold season with these books. I also hoped you checked out my favorite gifts for bookworms.
upcoming plans
A new year = a fresh start. I love the anticipation of feeling so much potential. As I said, 2016 was a major asskicker in a lot of way. So, with the new year, I'm looking forward to a lot of new beginnings. We're heading back to the Texas Hill Country for a girls' weekend. No, nothing crazy...just another amazing cooking class at Onion Creek Kitchens. It's sure to be as amazing as always!
