September has been a busy month - Izzie and Tucker went back to Texas with us and did surprisingly well. Especially considering two dogs who haven't experienced a lot of change handled over 3,500 miles, two hotel rooms, and three different people's houses. Needless to say, we were all ready to be home.

Today was the first day of (Izzie) sweater weather. It's been a fall(ish) 65° today, but it was much cooler this morning. Both she and Tucker enjoyed snoozing all afternoon. We also discovered that they're both pretty festive - they enjoy a little bit of canned pumpkin mixed into their dog food as a treat.

Ella has been super needy and snuggly since we got home. Our awesome neighbors popped in to check on her while we were gone, but being the bitchy feline she is, she refused to accept pets. The only way my neighbor knew she was still alive was the evidence in the litter box. Ella sweetly woke me up at 4am one morning this week...by licking my toes.

And who said animals aren't vengeful. I call bullshit.

So yesterday, when I went to let the dogs out, they were acting REALLY weird. Izzie kept staring off of the porch and Tucker was very obvious watching something like he was nervous. Turns out, a big ol' rat snake got itself tangled up in the netting I use to keep birds out of my strawberries. Poor thing would have died, so the darling Man Friend and our amazing next door neighbor helped cut it out so it survived. However...what I want to know is why in the hell we left Texas to find snakes in our backyard here? Here's to more adventures in The Burgh.
