Well. I've done it again. I have three (yes, three!) books going all at once.

In my defense, there are some very legitimate arguments behind doing this. One book is pure smutty "potato chip" reading, one is scary AF, and the last one is an epic audiobook. It seems like a lot of mix-matching but honestly, the stories are all so good and different that it's really easy to keep up.

I've already mentioned that I started Anne Rice's The Witching Hour on Audible (still loving it, btw). While I'm not even remotely close to being done with it, I can proudly say that I've finished the first fifth. Yes, 11 hours and 17 minutes later, I made it through part 1 of 5. Holy shiitake mushroom.

However, I must confess, the book is absolutely fantastic. The narrator is excellent at voice inflections and the storyline makes me homesick for New Orleans. Though the story goes along bit languidly during the first part, Rice weaves a very interesting web. Listening to the story is very much like watching a movie, where you, as the viewer, can see certain things occurring to which the characters are completely oblivious. I'm looking forward to seeing where it leads.

My second ongoing novel is more fast-paced. If I Were You is the first in a five-part series by Lisa Renee Jones. When I first picked up the novel, I genuinely thought it was more of a dark, sensual thriller. However, it's becoming more and more apparent that it's more 50 Shades than Gone Girl. However, I'm liking it so far. It's a quick and easy bubble bath read...and those aren't usually set to win any great literary prizes.

The storyline is interesting, about a school teacher with a passion for art who stumbles upon the sexy diaries of a (presumably) missing woman. On her mission to find the missing woman, she finds herself easily slipping into the other woman's life.

My final book is from the super talented and super creepy Amy Cross. Her novel 3AM takes place in a London housing block in a poorer part of the city. One character comes to look for her missing aunt, a resident of the apartment complex. From the beginning, she's warned about 3am. Don't be awake. Don't open the door. And don't ever be outside.

The book is filled with ghosts, murders, suicides, and missing people. Honestly, her work scares the shit out of me. To the point I can't even read most of it at night. However, I must disclose that I am a big chicken (see video below). Though I purchased this book on Amazon, I was't able to locate it for purchase. However, if you're looking for a scare, Amy Cross is a great option. She's very prolific author, so you shouldn't have any issue finding other pieces of her work.
