texas road trip | september 2017

Dammit. It's been almost a month since I posted anything. Sorry, y'all! I've been a tad busy. The Man Friend and I just got back to Pennsylvania after an almost 2 week long road trip to Texas. We busted our asses getting his mom's house cleaned up after Hurricane Harvey (f*ck that guy, man), then we made our way to Denton to celebrate my sweet nephew's birthday.

We. Is. Tired.

We just made this trip in April, but we managed over 3,000 miles in 2 weeks. I have officially decided I am not a road trip person. Or at least not the 900 miles an hour road trip person.

In Houston, we saw the Man Friend's entire family (special congrats to Sean & Paige, who got engaged while we were in town!) and his friend group that still lives there. We stayed with some old friends we hadn't seen in a while, with their two pups (thanks, Ryan, Vanessa, Milo, and Rusker!). Vanessa is Colombian and shared a few recipes with me, so stay tuned! We ate our weight in Chick-fil-A, Whataburger, Mexican food, and gulf oysters - but I've never been so excited to be back in my own kitchen and not have to eat fast food.

My mom drove up to Denton and we all stayed at my sister-in-law's mom's house - our little Bodie was so excited to have us all there. That kid is hilarious. On my dad's side there are SIX September birthdays, so we celebrated at lunch on Saturday...then we were off to Bobo's 2nd birthday for more hot dogs, burgers, and cake. And it was all delicious. Even my too-tight pants agree.
