So I've decided that you'll *probably* get bored with posts about everything I'm reading each Wednesday. Also, with as slowly as I've been bookworming lately, it's possible I also may not have anything to write about. So, starting today...we're going to WIRW twice a month. Deal?! Deal!

While on our trip to Seattle (hint: read tomorrow's post!!), the Man Friend and I were discussing books with our friend, Maggie. Mags is awesome...I envy her mermaid hair and her DGAF attitude. She's just a ton of fun. We chatted about several different topics, including which books we're currently reading. The Man Friend happily chimed in but I was a little embarrassed. I'd just finished reading my book on the Lusitania and while it was awesome, it was pretty damn heavy. I vaguely mentioned that I was reading some mindless stuff...but then Mags said something amusingly profound.

"Some books are kale...and some books are potato chips. "

Just like that, my guilt disappeared. And who the hell eats kale on a vacation? Sometimes you just need junk food.

Yep. It's not literature. But I managed to breeze through these books over the course of several days. After the mental and emotional upheaval of "Dead Wake," I needed something easy to read. I'd read Melanie Harlow's Frenched series several years ago and enjoyed it. There was good character building and decent writing. While these obviously won't be winning any Pulitzers, they were great vacation reads (even if slightly unrealistic). They were kind of like a romantic comedy in written form...and who am I to begrudge a HEA?

Now, go enjoy some damn junk food.
